New Year. Same God.

I drove Mr. Man to work veerrryy early this morning (thank goodness for Dutch Brothers!) and drove by a church billboard that said it all:
New Year. Same God.
Amen. (Which I hear is Bible speak for - word.)
People are always changing. Delighting you. Disappointing you.
Little Miss changes her favorite color a few times a day.
Boo Bear changes her sleeping paterns without written notice.
Fo changes moods like the weather.
Things are always changing. I believe fully there is "nothing new under the sun" but it seems that things go in drastic swings or large rotations so that the world these days feels a little more like going to hell in a hand basket (side note - I used to have the funniest little magnet that was fiery around the edges and said:"Where am I going?! And why am I in this hand basket?!" Hahaha!! Ehemm...Anywho...)than our picture of the 40s.
But nothing is new under the sun. Just always changing. What is that saying? The only thing that remains the same is that nothing ever remains the same?
So very true in our world.
Except for one very important factor:
God doesn't change. Ever.
He is the same yesterday, today and forever. The God of the Old Testament is the same as the God of the New.
Forevermore, whatever happens today or tomorrow or whatever has happened in the past: He is the same.
He is and forever will be:
El Shaddai (Lord God Almighty)
El Elyon (The Most High God)
Adonai (Lord, Master)
Yahweh (Lord, Jehovah)
Jehovah Nissi (The Lord My Banner)
Jehovah-Raah (The Lord My Shepherd)
Jehovah Rapha (The Lord That Heals)
Jehovah Shammah (The Lord Is There)
Jehovah Tsidkenu (The Lord Our Righteousness)
Jehovah Mekoddishkem (The Lord Who Sanctifies You)
El Olam (The Everlasting God)
Elohim (God)
Jehovah Jireh (The Lord Will Provide)
Jehovah Shalom (The Lord Is Peace)
Jehovah Sabaoth (The Lord of Hosts)
He is the Great I AM. Who can say they are I Am? Who else but God is so constant and all-encompasing?
I AM is the same.
